Policy:
(A) INSTRUCTIONAL PERSONNEL
Outside employment or “moonlighting” on the part of a member of the instructional staff shall not violate the moral standard of the community of the Code of Ethics of the Education Profession of Florida. Under no conditions shall outside employment conflict with the person’s performance in his teaching duties nor with the extracurricular activities related to his position. (No employee shall have full-time employment other than his position with the school district, without prior approval of the Board.) No member of the instructional staff shall be permitted to sell for profit instructional materials to parents, or guardian of a child who is a member of his class. Where the principal questions the propriety of any outside employment of a staff member, he may require the person to confer with the Superintendent and to follow his directions. Where the employee refuses to follow the instructions of the Superintendent or feels that his rights have been violated, the matter shall be referred to the School Board.
(B) EDUCATIONAL STAFF PROFESSIONALS (ESP)

Under no conditions shall outside employment conflict with the person’s performance in his duties nor with the extracurricular activities related to his position. (No employee shall have full-time employment other than his position with the school district, without prior approval of the Board.)
