Policy:
During a school year, there shall be 180 days (or the hourly equivalent as prescribed in Rule 6A-1.045111 FAC) for instruction for pupils and not less than sixteen (16) additional days for preschool and postschool conferences, in service training, and authorized holidays.
(1) All members of the instructional staff are required to be present for all preschool and postschool conference days. Any person not present without authorized leave may have his contract terminated as provided by law or shall have his salary reduced according to the number of days of service required under his contract.
(2) A maximum of five (5) days professional leave may be granted to any member of the instructional staff who plans to attend college during the summer term if attendance is required during a portion of the preschool or postschool planning periods. See Article XIII in the Instructional Collective Bargaining Agreement.
