6.191 District Career and Technical Education

Policy:

The School Board authorizes issuance of School District Certificates to Full-Time Career and Technical Education Instructional Personnel. The following types of Full-Time Career and Technical Education District Certificates shall be issued: 

(1) Degreed and Non-Degreed Career and Technical Education personnel not Florida state certified will be issued a three (3) year Temporary District Certificate upon: 

(a) Receipt of fingerprint clearance from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). 

(b) Meeting the requirements set forth in the Procedures for Employment of Career and Technical Education and Adult Teachers Manual. 

(2).A five (5) year District Professional Certificate will be issued when all requirements have been completed as specified for industry certification. 

(3) To re-issue a valid District Professional Certificate, official transcripts must be filed with the appropriate renewal form showing six (6) semester hours of college credit which includes three (3) semester hours specific to each area on the Certificate. One hundred twenty (120) In-service Points shall be considered equivalent.
