4.19 Unsuitable And Surplus Textbooks, Discarding And Disposing Of

The following procedures shall be followed in discarding and disposing of unsuitable textbooks. The Superintendent or his authorized representative shall determine which books in the District are in such physical condition as to make them unsuitable for further use or renovation, and shall authorize the disposal of said books as detailed below:

(1) Said books may be sold, or given to a governmental or charitable agency, or to an individual.

(2) Where books cannot be sold or given to a governmental or charitable agency or individual, the Superintendent or his authorized representative may direct that the books be destroyed.
