3.19 Length Of School Day

Section 1001.41, Florida Statues defines a school day. Dixie County District Schools shall be in session for the minimum time required by law.

(1) The time for opening of the school day at each school shall be set by the Superintendent upon recommendations of principals.

(2) Schools wishing to extend the daily schedule beyond the minimum required must have the approval of the Superintendent.

(3) The Superintendent is empowered to alter the school day schedule on a temporary basis.
