CHAPTER 3.00 - SCHOOL ADMINISTRATION

3.15 Alcoholic Beverages And Non-Prescriptive Mood Modifiers

(1) No person shall be permitted to use, be in possession of or to be under the influence of, items listed above while on school property, within one thousand (1,000) feet of school property, or on a school sponsored trip.


(2) All personnel are encouraged to participate in the in service training sessions offered in the county dealing with substance abuse with the following objectives in mind.


(a) To be able to more readily identify students who may be involved with drugs.


(b) To have a better understanding of ways and means intervention in helping students deal with their potential problems.


(c) To be better informed of the service available for referring students through the guidance counselor.


(3) Any person having purchased an admission ticket to a school event shall forfeit his/her rights under this rule by having an alcoholic beverage or other illegal substance in his/her possession in the event.


(4) All principals are hereby directed to advise an adult individual who has an alcoholic beverage in his/her possession to leave the premises immediately.


(5) Any person who has been given notice by a school official and either fails to leave the premises or leaves but returns to the premises, in possession of an alcoholic beverage shall be deemed a trespasser. The police or other proper law enforcement agency may be notified to arrest the trespasser.


(6) While on school sponsored trips, the following may become necessary:


(a) Alcoholic beverages in the possession of minors will be seized.


(b) Students and/or adults in possession of alcoholic beverages or other illegal substances may be returned to school or home and/or other appropriate action taken. Law enforcement should be called for illegal substances.
